The Inner Journey of St. Therese of Lisieux

We have just “The Inner Journey of St. Therese of Lisieux“, an interview with Br. Brian Dybowski, FSC, Ph.D, head of the Santa Fe Institute for Spirituality, on Spirituality TV.
Br. Brian, who first started studying the French saint in 1957, taught an expanded course on the life of St. Therese at a later date. St. Therese is known as one of the only three women Doctors of the Church for her teaching of a new way of both love and mercy.

Part 1 of Gandhi’s Spirituality

We have just posted part 1 of “Gandhi’s Spirituality“, an interview with Br. Brian Dybowski, FSC, Ph.D, from the Santa Fe Institute for Spirituality, on Spirituality TV, first aired in July, 2004.
Br. Brian went on that summer to teach a 16 hour course on Gandhi’s Spirituality including his relationship to the Christian Church and other religions.

Christian Bros. now airing in Santa Fe & ABQ

The “CHRISTIAN BROTHERS” now have their own television program on Comcast Cable, Channel 16 in Santa Fe and currently airs on Tuesdays at 6:30pm. It can also be viewed over the internet on Saturdays at noon on Albuquerque Community Television Cable Channel 27 at www.quote-unquote.org

Year of the Priest

” YEAR OF THE PRIEST” television program will feature Msgr. Jerome Martinez, the Rector of St. Francis Cathedral Basilica in Santa Fe- part 1 on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 7pm on comcast cable TV ch.16, and re air on Sunday, February 27 at 2pm. The program will last approximately 30 minutes.
Part 2 will air the following week on Friday, March 4, 2011 and Sunday, March 6 at the same times. Msgr. Jerome is currently on sabbatical leave and is studying in Rome, Italy until the end of May 2011.
Everyone is welcome to record these programs to share with others who do not have cable television.

New television series:

“Christian Brothers in New Mexico” will start Tuesday ,August 24th  at 6:30-7:30pm on cable television ch.16.

Brother Gregory Wright FSC, Ph.D gave the history of the Christian Brothers in New Mexico at the oldest church in the United States – San Miguel Chapel on July 10th of this year.

Those four one hour talks will be broadcast for the first time over the next four weeks.

Bro. Gregory earned his Ph.D at the University of New Mexico, and taught history and political science at the late College of Santa Fe from 1958 to 1988.

Other television programs ongoing:

“The Year of the Priest” interviews with Roman Catholic Priests over the last 20 years in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe airs on cable ch.16 on Fridays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm.

“Spirituality TV” interviews with interesting people from various religious backgrounds airs Mondays at 7pm, Thursdays at 9am, and Sundays at noon on cable ch.16.

July 10th – July 24th

Our theme this year is Love and Service.

This year, The Santa Fe Institute for Spirituality offers four programs, some on Saturdays and one for an entire week. 

Brother Gregory Wright, FSC, Ph.D., noted historian, reviews 150 years of Brothers’ Educational Service in Santa Fe on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at San Miguel Mission (the Oldest Church), on Old Santa Fe Trail.  This is where the Brothers lived in 1859 when they started St. Michael’s School, which is still operational today. 

Brother Brian Dybowski FFC, Ph.D., does a week on the Gospel of St. John from July 11-16.  Sessions begin Sunday night at 7p.m. at St. Michael’s High School off St. Francis Dr. at 100 Siringo Rd.  Evening sessions run from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. followed by discussions, Mon – Thurs. to accomodate the schedule of working folks.  Morning sessions Mon – Fri. start at 9:30 and run until noon.

Tom and Mamie Fargess conduct a week-end retreat on personal value as the reason for love.  Friday evening, July 16th, at St. Michael’s High School, a get-to-know-you supper starts with registration  at 5:30.  We start with dinner, visit with each other, and consider Trinity and Creation.   Closing at 9pm, we will have learned a lot about God and His great blessing of creation.  On Saturday, July 17th, we continue the discussion until 3 p.m.

On Saturday, July 24th, Reverend Bob Patterson, MA, exams the life and teaching of St. Francis de Sales, the apostle of Love.  Two morning sessions provide a great introduction to his spirituality.  These sessions start at 9:30 at St. Michael’s High School and end at noon.
