College of Santa Fe Alumni have provided a most generous gift to the Christian Brothers of Santa Fe in appreciation for the many years' service provided to the College of Santa Fe and education in New Mexico. On Thursday, October 27, 2011, over 30 Alumni gathered at the Christian Brothers' Residence in Santa Fe, NM to donate $50,000 to help support the men who devoted their lives to education and devotion to the Catholic Religion. Many in attendance expressed heart felt gratitude to the Brothers for the wonderful educations and subsequent opportunities in their lives in part due to that education. The College of Santa Fe Alumni, despite the demise of the College of Santa Fe, continue to manage an endowment fund derived from the Bingo concession they ran for nearly 50 years. In the past, this fund was used for scholarships to the College of Santa Fe. Now that the College is no longer in service, the Brothers who had taught there and at St. Michael's High School are now living at the Brothers' Residence next to St. Michael's High School where they maintain an active presence. Br. Brian Dybowski, FSC. Ph.d and Director of the Santa Fe Institute for Spirituality, along with Br. Timothy Caldwell, known as the "visitor" from the New Orlean's Chapter of the Christian Bros. accepted the gift from the Alumni on behalf of all the Brothers. Many thanks to the College of Santa Fe Alumni! The Christian Brothers of Santa Fe are honored by this gift and are deeply grateful for this show of support and gratitude.
